G.Sridalaadevi

G.Sridalaadevi, Secretary of Pondicherry Art Akademy is an Artist and Curator. She developed a deep desire to become an artist by seeing her father’s work who is a senior artist. She started learning art at a very young age. When she found the truth that “Spirituality & Nature” are inseparable, she started to paint them both in one canvas. For sridalaa Art is a spiritual way to get knowledge about oneself.

While going to temples we admire the artistic works there. Mostly the sculptures and paintings attract everyone. But if we keenly observe, we can also see the hidden prayers over the sculptures and walls of the temples. Though people surrender their prayers to god, they also believe that making a mark over the sculptures will make their prayers come true. These two works of her speaks about those hidden prayers over the terracotta horse and yali in a happy environment.
